“The rent then payable” adds the increase to the latest rent, which is what most rent agreements mean. “The starting rent” adds the same amount each time. Each new rent is rounded to the rupee if ticked. Check the figures against your agreement.

Questions

What does “on the rent then payable” mean?

Each increase is worked out on the rent being paid just before it, so increases grow year by year. 5% on ₹25,000 gives ₹26,250, then ₹27,563.

Can it do 15% every 3 years?

Yes. Set the increase to 15 and Goes up every to 3 years.
